FIRST, we now step up. Last week was a major step forward in that you could grab his feet and get him to come out without yelling. Now he has decided that stepping up is better.
SECOND, we now WANT to go upstairs and be away from the cage. We've got two places we like upstairs...on top of the cage of Linnies (who lived with an African Gray and don't seem to freak out) and the playstand, which we've moved upstairs.
THIRD, the bird that won't try ANYTHING new discovered that the 'keets, Linnies and Cockatiels have this thing called spray millet. Okay. The seeds on spray millet are SMALLER than the pupils in this cockatoo's eye. But, he picks off one seed at a time, rolls the seed around to remove the seed coating, lets the seed coating fall out of his mouth, then swallows the seed.
It takes him about 1 hour to do about 1 inch of millet. The noise in this video is because I'm holding the millet bag and the cockatiels, linnies and budgies see the bag. The "pew pew" is linnies, the 'tweet' and scratchy noises are keets and the whistling is 'tiels. Usually they are WAY quieter.
